Field and Hills

"READY FOR PLANTING" by Kim Weber
8"x16" Oil painting on gallery-wrap stretched canvas SOLD

An original plein air (outdoors)painting, looking out at the dirt field-
soon-to-be-flowers in Southern California. The flowers and
plants grown here are beautiful in the Spring, just before they are
harvested for us to enjoy in our homes.

Borders One-Woman Show

BORDERS South Coast Plaza Exhibit, artist Kim Weber
Plein Air Oil Paintings of California 2007

I was honored with the opportunity to exhibit 14 original
Southern California Plein Air oil paintings at Borders S.C.P.
in Orange County, California. My thanks goes to Konnie Kim
at www.konniekim.com and to Mr. R for his
purchase of "Golden Hills" on opening night! For artists,
the thrill is knowing someone wants your art on their wall.

People's Choice Award

"LAGUNA CLIFF" by Kim Weber
Original oil 9x12 inch painting on canvas panel

Laguna Beach, California is a favorite place for us "plein air"
artists. This was painted one misty Saturday morning with my
outdoor-artist friends, looking NW at "Doghead Cliff". All the
cliffs and rocks seem to have special names around here.

LAGUNA CLIFF won second place for "People's Choice"
Special Award from Orange Art Association, Orange, CA.
It is framed in a 3" gold plein air frame and was donated to
a charity auction event for CASA of Orange County, CA.

Camel of Israel

"DESERT LIMO" by Kim Weber
Framed original 12x16 inch oil painting on stretched canvas

I rode this camel in the Judean wilderness of Israel, painted
from memory and personal photo references of a wonderful
time in the Holy Land. He was fun to ride but kinda smelly!

It is available for purchase with or without the frame. Please
email me if you have a question.

Plein Air Award Winner

"THE FOUNTAIN" by Kim Weber
Plein Air oil 9x12 inch on canvas RayMar panel
Framed in 5" plein air silver/gold 18"x21"frame $300

Four of us artists set up our easels in the Orange Circle Plaza
one Saturday morning to paint Old Orange for a Plein Air
competition in December. As members of Orange Art Association
we were there to promote our 11th annual "Orange Open" at
The Guggenheim Gallery, Chapman University. We had a great
time and broke for lunch at 100 year-old Watson's Soda Fountain.

December brought our Christmas potluck, gift making and
2007 painting awards. THE FOUNTAIN received the Plein Air
Special Award from OAA and I also received the
People's Choice Award, Second Place for "Laguna Cliffs". It
was exciting and an honor to be awarded for two paintings!

Glassell Street, Orange

"WINDOW DRESSING" by Kim Weber
Original oil 8x6 inch on canvas panel SOLD

This red dress was just waiting for me to paint! It stood
in the window of one of many antique shops on Glassell and
Chapman, Old Orange. It was painted "en plein air"-on site
in front of the shop. It's always interesting to talk with
people as they walk by and hear their comments.

Old Towne Orange, California

"SIDEWALK SITTING" by Kim Weber
Original oil painting 8x6 inch on canvas panel SOLD

This small piece was painted on location-plein air-near the
Orange Circle on Glassell Street. There are many art galleries
and antique stores in Old Orange, and much California history
to go with it.

Southern California Burning

"OUT MY WINDOW" photo by Kim Weber
Irvine's Santiago Canyon on Monday, October 22, 2007

This fire is still raging, set by an arson, coming close to
our radio station tower, KWaVE 107.9, that stands on
the Santiago Mountain peak, in NE Irvine. God has
preserved our church's three Conference Center's and
Bible College, which stood in harm's way six days.
Because of this miracle, we have provided showers, food
and beds to over 700 firefighters and 600 evacuees! We're
so thankful to all the heroic efforts of the many men and
women working to stop the fires. We pray for the families
that lost their homes and that Christ will be in your hearts.

Pacific Coast

"CORONA DEL MAR SUNSET" by Kim Weber
Original 6x8 inch oil on canvas panel
Gift to a friend in Ukraine-Corona del Mar was her home.

Painting a sunset on location can be tricky. The golds
and oranges fade as the sun dips quickly behind the
sea, leaving a gray ocean and landscape.

Washington Landscape

"CASCADES" by Kim Weber
Original 6x8 inch oil on canvas SOLD

This is the area where I grew up, the Pacific Northwest,
Washington state. I'm posting this small piece in
celebration of my children's birthdays, for their
fond memories of time spent with Gramps and Gramma.

California Seascape

"CROWN OF THE SEA" by Kim Weber
Original 9x12 inch oil on canvas on RayMar wood panel SOLD

This painting was completed one morning in Corona del Mar,
overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's a different style for me,
with various layers of brilliant colors. It became one of my
favorites and fun to paint-hope you like it too! It's painted
"en plein air", outdoors, on location. In August, it was juried
into the 11th Annual Orange Open art exhibit, held at
The Guggenheim Gallery, Orange, California.
